About Dan
Dan Mele is a science photographer and filmmaker based in the U.S. Virgin Islands. With a background in marine science, he specializes in underwater storytelling that challenges lab-bound stereotypes and redefines how we see science and scientists. His visual work helps research projects reach broader audiences and builds bridges between scientists, conservation groups, and the public.
Dan’s work is represented by the International League of Conservation Photographers. He’s also a TEDx speaker and has contributed to Emmy-nominated and award-winning films. His photographs have been featured in several books, magazines, and digital publications worldwide.
